How I Ended Up in Jackson

I grew up ski racing. I trained at Carrabassett Valley Academy in Maine, made the U.S. Ski Team Development Team from 1991 to 1993, and raced Division I at Bates College, where I earned NCAA All-American honors.

I drove west in the summer of 1997 to ski one powder winter with a friend. That winter never really ended.

Racing did not stop at the state line. I won the Jackson Hole Town Downhill in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2002. I couldn’t quite get that 5th one! And I won the belt buckle at the locals’ favorite Dick’s Ditch banked slalom in 2002, 2003, 2005, and 2007. I also spent time racing Skier Cross at the X Games four times, three in Aspen and once at Mount Snow.

None of that sells a house. What it gave me is the passion for skiing that most move to Jackson for and a working knowledge of this mountain that I still use every week with buyers.

Two Sides of Teton Pass, One Agent

Jackson is home, and it is where most of my business happens. I got my license in 2003 and have sold across Jackson, Teton Village, Wilson, the north valley, Alpine, and Star Valley ever since.

I also kept Idaho. From my first year in the business, I worked Teton Valley, ID alongside Jackson, and I hold an active Idaho license (#SP27313) next to my Wyoming license (#5083). Through 2020 and 2021, I sold 42 lots at Spring Hollow Ranch outside Victor.

That side of the pass rewards local knowledge. Teton Valley has roughly 300 platted subdivisions, and plenty of them were approved and never built out. Covenants, water, and financing can vary lot to lot, and none of it shows up on a listing sheet.

Here is why it matters to you. Plenty of buyers start in Jackson and find the numbers do not stretch. When that happens, you keep the same agent. We look at Victor, Driggs, Tetonia, or Alta together, and I can tell you honestly whether the Idaho side fits your plans. Sometimes the right answer is to stay in Jackson and wait. I will say that too. If taxes are part of the question, here is how Wyoming and Idaho actually compare.

The Mountain and the River

I have taught and guided skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort every winter since 2004. Before that, I coached junior racers with the Jackson Hole Ski Club. When you ask what the ski-out from a Teton Village home is really like, I have skied it in every kind of condition.

Summers went to the river. I started fly fishing here in 1999 and guided for JH Anglers, Snake River Kayak & Canoe, and Grand Fishing Adventures from 2002 to 2005, then again from 2008 to 2010. I know which access points hold up, which stretches blow out in June, and when river frontage is worth the premium.

How I Work

I am not a team. I write every offer, run every negotiation, and show up to the showings. When you call, you get me.

That does not mean you are ever stuck. I work alongside a short list of Keller Williams Jackson Hole colleagues I trust. If I am on the mountain or out of town, your deal keeps moving.

Buyers and sellers both. I represent sellers across Teton County, Wyoming and Teton Valley, Idaho, including homes, condos, and vacant land. I provide wide-ranging marketing tactics for each listing.

Life Here

I raised two kids through the Teton County school system. I know which neighborhoods families settle into, which bus routes work in January, and what the rec programs look like from the sidelines.

Many winter mornings you can find me hiking up Glory before work. In summer it is mountain bike trails or a drift boat if work does not have me busy. Buyers are not just choosing a house here. They are choosing this life, and I have been living it for a long time.
